A murder mystery needs enough suspects for the killer to hide among, so it plays best with a small group of friends rather than two or three people. Too few passengers and the killer is obvious within minutes. The 5 GB plan handles a typical friend group comfortably, and you can raise RAM later if your community grows.

Take a backup in the panel, wait until no round is running, then install the newer build from the Modpacks tab. Ask every player to update their client to the same version before they rejoin. A mismatched client is the most common reason someone cannot board the train after an update.
