Around six players exploring separate areas is where that figure was set. If you add mods or run large automation networks, step up in whole gigabytes and watch tick times after each change.

Around six is comfortable on 8 GB. The cost is not the player, it is where they go: a group sitting in one base is cheap, the same group generating chunks in six directions is not. A larger group works if you raise memory first and pregenerate the world before opening the door.

Back up the server first, every time. Then install the newer build from the Modpacks tab over the existing server so the world folder is kept. Check the changelog before you jump: on a pack this size a removed or replaced mod takes its blocks out of an existing save, and no update puts them back.

You can drop extra server side mods in over SFTP, but Craftoria's quests and custom recipes were balanced around the shipped list. Removing a mod the quest book references breaks progression for everyone on that save. Test on a copy of the world first, boot it, and read the console for missing registry errors.

Both are extra large quest packs on NeoForge 1.21.1, so the raw mod lists overlap a lot. The difference is shape. Craftoria layers its own custom content and a handcrafted ending on top of the usual tech and magic lines, plus a seasonal cycle that changes the world as you play. All the Mods 10 is broader and leaves the pacing to you.

Yes, and it catches new players out. The world moves through a seasonal cycle, so crops that grew fine in one season stall in another and the surface changes around your base. It costs nothing in performance, but it does change how a long running save plays, so tell your group before they plant a farm.
