How does BMC1 differ from BMC2 and BMC4?

They are parallel editions rather than versions. BMC1 is Fabric on Minecraft 1.19.2, BMC2 is Fabric on 1.20.1, and BMC4 is Forge on 1.20.1. All are maintained, so a higher number is not an upgrade. Pick by the Minecraft version and loader your group wants, then make sure everybody installs that exact edition, because they are not interchangeable.

How much RAM does a Better MC BMC1 server need?

8 GB for a group of around six. The pack rebuilds world generation and adds hundreds of structures plus five dimensions, so creating new terrain is the main expense rather than machines ticking in a base. A group spread across several dimensions is the heaviest case, and pregenerating the overworld removes a large share of that from the live server.

Can I add Forge mods to this server?

No. BMC1 is the Fabric edition, so a Forge jar for Minecraft 1.19.2 will not load even though the version matches. This trips people up because the same studio publishes Forge editions of Better MC. Check the loader on every download, upload into `mods/`, and give your players the identical files or they will be rejected when they connect.

Should I pregenerate the world?

Yes, it is the single most useful thing you can do for this pack. Rebuilt generation and a large number of added dungeons make first-visit chunks expensive, and exploring is the entire point of Better MC. Add a pregeneration mod to the server, cover a reasonable radius around spawn while nobody is online, and let it complete before your group starts playing.

Better MC BMC1 is the Fabric 1.19.2 edition of Luna Pixel Studios' vanilla-plus family. The idea across the whole line is the same: keep Minecraft feeling like Minecraft, then give it far more worth finding. No power grid, no automation endgame, nothing to learn before you can play.

What this edition puts in front of you is exploration. World generation is rebuilt with Oh The Biomes You'll Go, Geophilic and Ecologics, there are five new dimensions, and hundreds of dungeons and structures come from When Dungeons Arise, Explorify and Repurposed Structures. Fights come from AdventureZ and Bosses of Mass Destruction, while Naturalist fills the world with animals that make it feel alive rather than empty.

We set 8 GB for a group of around six. The cost here follows how the pack is played. That also means a scattered group is heavier than a settled one, which is worth knowing when somebody asks why the server felt fine last week.

This is the most effective setup step for any Better MC pack. Add a pregeneration mod to the server, cover a sensible radius around spawn while nobody is online, and let it finish. The pack ships no tool for it. Doing this converts the hitching players feel while exploring into one job done in advance, and on a pack built around exploring it is time very well spent.

Fabric, Java and protection

This edition is Fabric on Minecraft 1.19.2, so Java 17, selected at install, and Forge jars will not load no matter how well the Minecraft version matches. As with the rest of the family there is no claim or protection system in the pack, so a private group wants a whitelist rather than an open door. Back up before updating and move every client together.
