Is Create+ stable enough to run as a server?

The 1.21.1 line is marked alpha and the author does not call it server-supported, so set expectations accordingly. In our own testing build 6.0.0-alpha-f installs and boots cleanly, which is why it is the build we deploy. What alpha really means here is churn: some mods are missing pending updates, and builds land more often than on a finished pack.

Should I use the older 1.19.2 release instead?

No. It looks like the safe choice because it is marked a full release rather than an alpha, but it does not work as a server: it fails to boot on missing mandatory dependencies. That line is worth knowing about only so you do not pick it by mistake. Run the 1.21.1 build, which is the one that actually starts.

How much RAM does a Create+ server need?

6 GB, and that is generous for a pack of this size. Create+ is the lightest pack we list and it ships a substantial set of performance mods. Your actual usage will be driven by what your players build rather than by the pack itself, since large Create factories and moving contraptions are the real cost on this kind of server.

Why do our trains stop when nobody is nearby?

Chunks unloading. A moving contraption needs the chunks along its route to be loaded to keep going, and when nobody is nearby they unload by default. This is the most common confusion on a Create server. Keep routes within areas that stay loaded, or use a chunkloading method available in your setup for the lines that need to run unattended.

Why does the pack make travel deliberately awkward?

Because that is the design. Create+ leans away from firework and elytra travel so that covering distance becomes a build project: planes, trains, helicopters and the infrastructure to support them. If your group finds that annoying rather than interesting, this is the wrong pack for them. If it sounds like the good part, it is what makes Create+ different from adding Create to any other pack.

Can I add mods to Create+?

Yes, and the small mod list leaves room. Use NeoForge builds for Minecraft 1.21.1, since that is what this line runs, and check the loader before uploading anything into `mods/`. Give every player the identical files. Bear in mind that on an alpha line some mods you want may not have a compatible build yet, which is part of the trade.

Create+ is built on one idea. Take a light vanilla-plus pack, add Create and its addons, and then remove the shortcuts that let players skip the point of Create.

The clearest example is travel. In most packs, crossing distance means firework rockets and an elytra. Here the pack leans on mods that push you toward building the thing instead: planes, trains, helicopters, whatever your group can engineer, plus the infrastructure to keep them running. Create: Aeronautics is part of the current line, so aircraft are a first-class project rather than a novelty.

Everything else stays deliberately restrained. Supplementaries and similar mods fill out the vanilla experience without turning it into a kitchen sink, and the pack carries a long list of performance mods rather than a long list of content mods. At around 155 entries it is the lightest pack in our Minecraft list, and the server install is leaner still once the client-only mods are stripped out. It suits groups who like Create specifically, want to build their own solutions, and would rather have one deep mod than fifty shallow ones.

Run the 1.21.1 alpha, and know what that means

Be straight about this one. The current Minecraft 1.21.1 line is an alpha, and the author does not consider it supported on servers. We tested it anyway: build 6.0.0-alpha-f installs and boots cleanly on our own Minecraft test server, landing around 105 mods server-side, and that is the build these servers run.

The older Minecraft 1.19.2 release line is not the safe fallback it looks like. It fails to boot as a server at all, stopping on missing mandatory dependencies, so despite being marked a full release it is not a usable server build. Do not choose it because the word alpha makes you nervous.

What alpha does mean in practice is churn. Some mods are still missing because they have not updated yet, builds land more often than on a finished pack, and a future update may change more than a point release normally would. Take the backup the panel offers before moving builds.

6 GB, and a genuinely light pack

We set 6 GB. Create+ is the smallest pack we list and it was assembled with performance in mind rather than as an afterthought, so a group of six is comfortable without much thought. What drives your usage is not the mod count but what your players build, which means contraptions.

Contraptions are the load, and they move

Create's cost profile is unlike a normal tech mod. A large factory made of Create machinery constantly moves blocks, and traveling contraptions such as trains and aircraft are entities carrying block data through the world rather than static machines sitting in one chunk. A group with several trains running and a few aircraft parked is doing steady work that grows with ambition, not with player count.

The practical implication is chunkloading. Vehicles that travel between bases need the chunks along their route handled, and a contraption that stops because its chunk unloaded is the most common confusion on a Create server.
