If your group splits up across different biomes or rides far from spawn every evening, add a gigabyte or two and use spark to confirm entities are the bottleneck.

Six is the comfortable target on the recommended 6 GB. A group that travels together shares one spawn area, so it costs less than the same number exploring separately. For a bigger community, raise the RAM in steps and pregenerate the world, because each scattered player brings their own Pokémon spawns and fresh chunks.

Take a backup first, since parties and PC boxes live in the world folder. Then install the new build from the Modpacks tab and make sure everyone updates their client to the exact same version. Check the changelog for mods that were removed, because anything they added, blocks and items included, can disappear from the world.

Plain Cobblemon gives you catching, battling and the PC, with little around them. Cobblemon Expanded keeps that core and layers on Pokémon Towns, Gym Leaders, Mega Evolutions, rideable Pokémon and plushies, so there are places to visit and goals to chase. It needs more RAM than the bare mod, but its focused mod list stays lighter than a general kitchen-sink pack.

Towns are placed as new chunks generate, so land you explored before installing the pack will not get them. On a fresh world they turn up as you travel. If you want towns close to spawn, start a new world or push outward into ungenerated land, which is also why pregenerating early pays off.
