Rising Legends is Cwortex's attempt to bring RLCraft forward from 1.12.2 to Fabric 1.20.1. The goal is stated plainly by its author: keep almost every feature of the original pack, but run it on a modern Minecraft version with modern blocks, biomes and tooling. The current build, 3.1, packs 365 mods tagged for adventure, combat and challenge.

The hook is the same one that made RLCraft famous. You spawn into a world that wants you dead, with dangerous creatures roaming early, combat that rewards preparation over button mashing, and dragons waiting for anyone who survives long enough to go looking. Progress feels earned because every step forward costs gear, food and a few deaths along the way.

The pack suits groups who enjoyed or heard about RLCraft and want that difficulty without being stuck on a version from 2017. It works best for a small team of around six who scout, fight and die together, sharing a base as a safe point between expeditions. Solo players who want a hardcore feel on a server that keeps running while they are offline will find it fits too.

Hosting Rising Legends

RAM and what drives the load

With 365 mods on Fabric, Rising Legends is a heavy pack before anyone even logs in. We recommend 8 GB as the starting point for a group of about six. The real pressure comes from the mob-dense world: hostile creatures, bosses and dragon fights all run entity logic every tick, and players spreading out to explore multiply that. If ticks start lagging, run a quick profile to see which mod or entity is to blame:

/spark profiler start
/spark profiler stop

Pregenerating the world

Each new chunk in Rising Legends spawns structures and creatures from dozens of worldgen mods, and that generation is the heaviest thing the server does. Pregenerating a radius around spawn before the group starts lets everyone explore without the stutter of fresh terrain. Chunky runs on Fabric 1.20.1, so add it server-side and run something like:

/chunky radius 3000
/chunky start

Run it while nobody is online and remove it afterwards if you prefer a leaner mod list.

Java version and updating

Minecraft 1.20.1 runs on Java 17, which is what the server should use for this pack. Builds of Rising Legends arrive regularly, and 3.1 is the latest at the time of writing. Before switching build, take a backup, because a newer version can rebalance mobs or swap a mod that your world already saved data for. Read the changelog first, update the server, then make sure every player updates their client to the exact same build.
