How to Upload Your Valheim World Save to Your Server

Want to continue your single-player world on your server? Here's how to upload it.

Locating Your Valheim World Files

First, generate the world in single-player if you haven't already.

If you DON'T use Steam Cloud: Your worlds are at: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds

If you use Steam Cloud: Your worlds are at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<STEAM_ID>\892970\remote\worlds

To find the right Steam ID folder:

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata
  3. You'll see one or more folders with a long number (your Steam ID)
  4. Open the folder, then navigate to 892970 โ†’ remote โ†’ worlds

You need two files:

  • <worldname>.db - the world database
  • <worldname>.fwl - the world file

Uploading to Your Server

  1. Log in to the DoomHosting Panel.
  2. Go to Files.
  3. Navigate to: .config โ†’ unity3d โ†’ IronGate โ†’ Valheim โ†’ worlds_local
  4. Upload both .db and .fwl files to this folder.
  5. Go to Startup in the sidebar.
  6. Set World Name to match your world file name (without the file extension).
  7. Restart your server.

Your world should now load when the server starts.
