Oxide is a powerful modding framework for Rust that allows server owners to enhance their servers through plugins. With Oxide, you can install various plugins for moderation, configuration, events, minigames, and many other features to create a unique gaming experience.

Prerequisites

  • An active Rust server from DoomHosting
  • Access to the DoomHosting control panel (panel.doomhosting.com)

Step 1: Access Control Panel

  1. Go to panel.doomhosting.com
  2. Select your Rust server from the server list

Step 2: Configure Oxide

  1. Stop your server
  2. Go to the "Startup" tab
  3. Find "Modding Framework" and select "Oxide"
  4. Save changes

Step 3: Start Server

  1. Start your server
  2. Wait for initialization (first start may take longer)

Step 4: Verify Installation

Type oxide.version in console to confirm installation

Common Issues

Oxide Not Installing

  • Ensure your server is completely stopped before changing settings
  • Verify you have saved the changes in the startup configuration
  • Check server logs for any error messages

Version Verification Fails

  • Allow the server more time to fully initialize
  • Restart the server if the command doesn't work initially
  • Check the console for any error messages
