The ETS2 Iceland DLC release date is November 10, 2026. SCS Software confirmed it on October 24 with a trailer, and then a week later dropped a second date for the same month: the Coaches DLC follows on November 12. Two paid expansions in three days, with the 1.62 update sitting in open beta since October 22, makes this the busiest November Euro Truck Simulator 2 has had in years.

If you drive with friends on a Convoy server, those three releases land on your server in the same week. Here is everything SCS has confirmed about Iceland and Coaches, and what to do on the server side so launch night is a drive and not a troubleshooting session.

When Does the ETS2 Iceland DLC Come Out?

Iceland releases on Steam on Tuesday, November 10, 2026. The store page is live for wishlisting, and SCS has not announced a price yet. The Coaches DLC follows two days later on Thursday, November 12, 2026.

The open question is the game version. The 1.62 open beta has been running on the public_beta branch since October 22 with new garage models, three DAF XG+ special editions and an Iveco S-Way interior on the Improved Material System. SCS has not said whether 1.62 goes stable before Iceland or on the same day, so keep an eye on the Steam news feed from November 9. Whatever version Iceland ships on is the version your crew's clients will be on the next morning.

What's in the Iceland DLC?

Iceland is a full map expansion, not a small corner of the coast. SCS lists 14 cities and settlements, including Reykjavík and Akureyri, tied together by the Ring Road that loops the island. The landmarks are the ones every Iceland trip photo has: Jökulsárlón, Goðafoss, Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss, Víkurfjara, Geysir and Þingvellir. Many of them are viewpoints, so you can trigger the short cutscene tour when you pull up.

A few details make it play differently from the mainland:

  • Single-lane bridges. Drivers have to give way to oncoming traffic, which is a new kind of patience test on a map built for long hauls.
  • Real daylight hours. The day length follows Iceland's real timing, so a November convoy will see a lot of night.
  • Northern Lights. Under the right conditions the aurora lights up the sky over your night runs.
  • Transparent water and river foam. Shallow water now shows the rocks underneath, and fast rivers get foam. Iceland is the first map with it.

New Industries: Quarries, Farms and a Silica Factory

The cargo side gets custom-made farms, quarries and a silica factory in Húsavík. That last one is a nice touch: it nods to the silica that gives the real Blue Lagoon its colour, which is also one of the DLC's viewpoints on the Reykjanes Peninsula.

How Do You Get to Iceland in ETS2? The Ferry Routes

You cannot drive to Iceland, so SCS added three sea routes from the mainland and one inside the island:

  • Hirtshals (Denmark) to Seyðisfjörður, based on the real Smyril Line ferry.
  • Rotterdam Europoort (Netherlands) to Þorlákshöfn, a real freight route turned into a regular ferry for the game.
  • Ålesund (Norway) to Seyðisfjörður, a fictional link that also opens Ålesund's previously closed ferry port.
  • Stykkishólmur to Brjánslækur across Breiðafjörður, a shortcut that skips the winding Route 60 in the northwest.

SCS warns that ferrying a truck and trailer is expensive. Quick Travel to an Iceland garage is the cheaper way across.

The Coaches DLC on November 12

Two days later, Coaches turns ETS2 into a passenger game too. It launches with three licensed models: the Scania Touring, the Volvo 9700 DD and the MAN Lion's Coach, each with chassis, engine and interior options. You start with Quick Jobs, then move to Contract Jobs with timetables and multiple stops in your own coach, or Tourist Jobs that take passengers to landmarks. A G-force indicator tells you when your cornering is upsetting the passengers.

This is the DLC the 1.61 map work prepared for, from the new Nuremberg bus station to coach-aware border lanes. SCS says it will keep adding coaches and features after launch.

SCS has not detailed how coach jobs behave in Convoy yet. Treat a coach convoy as something to test in launch week rather than something to promise your group on day one.

What Iceland Means for Your Convoy Dedicated Server

Convoy only connects players and servers on the same game version, and every map DLC baked into your server packages has to be owned by everyone who joins. Iceland touches both rules. Here is the checklist we run on our own ETS2 test server around a map DLC launch:

  • Restart to update on release day. Our ETS2 servers run the official dedicated server (Steam app 1948160) and update on startup, so one restart from the panel pulls the new build. No reinstall.
  • Keep beta testers in their lane. Anyone who opted into public_beta for 1.62 is on a different version from a stable server and will not get in. Agree as a group which branch you are on.
  • Re-export server_packages with Iceland enabled. On a PC that owns Iceland, launch the game with the DLCs and mods you want, enable the console (uset g_console 1 and uset g_developer 1 in config.cfg) and run export_server_packages. Upload the new server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat to /.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/ through the File Manager or SFTP. Old packages are the most common reason an updated server turns players away.
  • Decide who owns what. If Iceland is in your packages, every player needs it. If half the group waits for a sale, keep a second package export without Iceland and swap between them.
  • Plan the route in. The Rotterdam ferry runs from the base game map. The Hirtshals crossing starts in Denmark, so a group that wants to sail from there also needs the map DLC that covers it in its packages.
  • RAM stays modest. Convoy is light: around 2 GB covers a full 8-player vanilla session, and a heavy DLC and mod list adds roughly 1.5 GB. The ETS2 RAM calculator gives you a number for your setup.

Worth the Trip?

Iceland is the most distinct map SCS has made for ETS2 in a long time. It is not about kilometres of motorway. It is about slow bridges, short winter days and a ferry ride that costs real money, which suits a group drive better than a solo grind. Coaches two days later gives anyone who finishes the Ring Road early a new career to start.
