Studio Wildcard pushed the release of ARK Genesis Ascended Part 1 and the free ARK Tides of Fortune update from June 25 to July 2, 2026. The week of extra time goes to final certification across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. For server owners, the calendar still includes a hard date you cannot miss: Classic Officials transition to the new Conquest ruleset on June 26 at 4 PM PDT, the day after the original launch was supposed to happen.
New Release Date: July 2, 2026
The June 20 Community Crunch 512 confirmed the slip. Wildcard cited certification on console as the gating item, with the additional week used to apply the final polish ahead of launch. Genesis Ascended Part 1 is a paid expansion bringing the simulation map from the original ARK to Ascended's Unreal Engine 5 rebuild, while Tides of Fortune is the free naval overhaul that ships alongside it.
If you were planning a launch-day server stand-up, push your maintenance window to Wednesday, July 2 (UTC) and keep the calendar slot blocked through the weekend. Day-one expansion launches in ARK historically ship a hotfix within 24 to 72 hours, and Tides of Fortune is rewriting water physics and adding sailable vessels, so the patch cadence will likely be heavy in the first week.
ARK Tides of Fortune: Naval Combat, Sailing Ships, Treasure Hunts

Tides of Fortune is the storyline tie-in for Bob's True Tales. It is free for every ARK Survival Ascended owner and adds:
- Custom sailing ships with crew slots, cannon emplacements, and modular hulls
- Naval combat covering ship-vs-ship and ship-vs-creature engagements
- Open-water exploration built on the rewritten water physics
- Treasure hunts scattered across the seas of every base map
- The Tidepup, a semi-aquatic salamander shoulder pet that grows into a full-sized mount
The water rewrite is the part that matters for performance. ARK Ascended on Unreal Engine 5 already pushes high-end hardware, and adding interactive open-water surfaces to maps such as The Island and Ragnarok will move RAM and tick budgets in ways no community benchmark has measured yet. If your dedicated server is sitting at 80 percent memory utilisation on a busy weekend today, it will be uncomfortable on July 2.
Classic Servers Transition to Conquest on June 26
This part gets buried because it happens five days before the expansion drops. Wildcard's Official Classic servers flip to the new Conquest PvP ruleset on June 26 at 4 PM PDT, and the change has real implications for community admins running their own ruleset overlays.
What changes on the official network:
- During Classic (pre-flip): Tek is disabled except Cryopods. 21 maps are in rotation, half NA and half EU, covering The Island, The Center, Ragnarok, Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Astraeos, Lost Colony, and Valguero.
- After the flip (Conquest): all 21 maps become Genesis Part 1. Tek is enabled except for the Tek Grenade, Tapejara Tek Saddle, Megalodon Tek Saddle, Rock Drake Tek Saddle, Mosasaur Tek Saddle, and the Tek Railgun.
- Goal of the ruleset: large-scale tribe PvP without mega-tribe domination, with elevated rates so cleared tribes can rebuild rather than reroll.
If you operate a private Classic-style server today, your players will see the official switch and ask whether your config follows. The 2x rates weekend (running through Monday, June 22) is your window to gather feedback before locking your ruleset.
What This Means for Your Dedicated Server

Practical checklist for ARK Survival Ascended dedicated server operators:
- Backup before July 2. Full save backup, mod folder, GameUserSettings.ini, Game.ini, and your cluster directory if you run multi-map.
- RAM headroom. Tides of Fortune adds water physics and persistent boats. If you ran Ragnarok or Lost Colony at 16 GB without spare headroom, plan to bump tier on launch week.
- Mod compatibility. Any mod that touches water collision, swimming creatures, or the Therizinosaurus (a TLC pass is queued for a later patch) will need testing on the experimental branch before July 2.
- Cluster config. If you intend to add Genesis Ascended Part 1 to an existing cluster, confirm the map activates in your cluster config the moment the expansion is installed.
- Player spike planning. A free naval update plus a paid expansion is a discoverability event. Expect a 30 to 50 percent bump in concurrent players in the first weekend, even on long-running servers.
Worth Waiting a Week?
Yes. A seven-day slip on a UE5 expansion that rewrites water physics is the right call. The alternative, a fragile day-one with broken naval combat across three platforms, would have burned far more goodwill than the one extra week costs. If you operate a private server, use the gap to test your config on the experimental branch and pre-stage the backup window.
