How to Start Fresh on Your Minecraft Server
Want to start over with a clean world? Here's how to reset your Minecraft server in a few steps.
Option 1: Delete Only the World (Keep Plugins/Mods)
This keeps your plugins, mods, and config files but resets the world.
- Stop your server from the DoomHosting Panel.
- Go to Files and delete the world folder(s). These are usually named
world,world_nether, andworld_the_end. - Start your server. A new world will be generated automatically.
Option 2: Full Reset (Delete Everything)
This gives you a completely clean server.
- Stop your server.
- Go to Files and delete everything.
- Go to Versions and pick the version you want to run (Vanilla, Forge, Fabric, etc.).
- Start your server. It will download fresh server files and generate a new world.
Changing Server Version
If you want to switch to a different Minecraft version or server type:
- Stop your server.
- Go to Versions in the sidebar.
- Pick your server type (Vanilla, Paper, Spigot, Forge, Fabric) and version.
- Start your server.
Note: Changing versions may not be compatible with existing worlds or mods. Always back up first if you want to keep your data.
Need a Backup First?
