Pocketpair pulled the curtain back at Summer Game Fest 2026 today: Palworld 1.0 launches on July 10, 2026, ending more than two years of Early Access. A first-ever cinematic trailer dropped alongside the announcement, teasing new Pals, a transforming sword-Pal, the long-rumored World Tree, and a fresh threat looming over Palpagos. If you host a dedicated Palworld server, the next month is your window to get ready, because the player surge that hit at EA launch is almost certainly coming back.

Release Date

Palworld 1.0 launches Friday, July 10, 2026, roughly two and a half years after the Early Access debut on January 19, 2024 (which famously sold 25 million copies across Steam and Xbox in its first month). The reveal happened during Summer Game Fest 2026's main showcase, and Pocketpair confirmed the update is free for existing owners.

The World Tree Finally Opens

Players have stared at the World Tree on the horizon since Early Access launch. It has been visible from a dozen biomes and completely inaccessible the entire time. The 1.0 cinematic shows the player riding a new flying Pal, clashing with a sword-transforming Pal against a giant winged creature, and only after defeating it does a path to the tree open up. Expect this to be the headline endgame zone, with new Pals to catch, fresh ancient civilization lore, and likely a dedicated boss arena baked in.

New Pals and a New Threat

The trailer does not name them, but three details stand out:

  • A sword-Pal that morphs into the player's weapon. That is a new combat archetype for the franchise.
  • An "ominous new threat" Pocketpair only described in flavor text, almost certainly tied to whatever lives inside the tree.
  • New areas beyond Palpagos's existing islands, hinted at by terrain in the trailer that does not match any current zone.

No official patch notes yet. Pocketpair typically drops the full feature list 7 to 10 days before launch, so watch the Palworld Steam page in late June.

What This Means for Your Dedicated Server

Hosting a Palworld server through 1.0 is the opposite of low effort. Here is the checklist if you want zero downtime through launch:

  • Back up your Pal/Saved directory before patching. Every major Palworld update so far has invalidated at least some save data on the way in, and 1.0 is the biggest content drop yet. A FileZilla pull of your save folder takes 30 seconds and protects months of base building.
  • Expect a player surge. The 2024 EA launch broke Steam concurrents twice and saturated dozens of hosting providers. 1.0 is a marketing-grade reset: every site that covered the original launch is queued up to cover this one too. Provision your RAM now, not on July 11.
  • Plan a maintenance window for July 10. Pocketpair usually drops major patches in the morning JST (early evening EU, early morning US). Schedule the update for 90 minutes minimum: stop the server, back up, patch, restart, validate world load, then reopen to players.
  • PalWorldSettings.ini will grow. Every major update has added 3 to 5 new server settings (XP rates, raid frequency, breeding speed). Read the patch notes line by line before launching the new build, because some new defaults may not be what you want.
  • Mods will need authors to update. If you run Patcher, REPatcher, or any UE4SS-based mod, expect a brief grace period where some break. Pin your current mod versions in a backup folder so you can roll back if needed.

The boring but important advice: if you have been on the fence about renting capacity, get it locked in now. Hosts fill up fastest in the 48 hours after a launch trailer, not the 48 hours after the actual launch.

Should You Buy or Wait?

Palworld's Steam page still has the Valheim crossover bundle live from late May, which is the cheapest entry point to the game before 1.0. The Early Access discount window almost certainly closes when 1.0 ships. For existing owners, the update is free, no separate purchase required.

For server hosts there is no waiting. Provision before July 10, test your config, and you will be one of the few servers up and stable when friends pile in on launch day.

Host Your Palworld 1.0 Server with DoomHosting

Skip the launch-day queue and rent a DoomHosting Palworld server with instant setup, full FTP access for save backups, DDoS protection, and a one-click panel to swap to the 1.0 build the moment Pocketpair ships it. We run on Ryzen 9 hardware, so a single-base server holds up fine when your friend group decides to host a 16-player breeding party.

July 10 is closer than it looks. Get your world ready.
