Funcom just announced a big free content drop for Conan Exiles Enhanced. Legacy of the Giant-Kings is a four-part story arc, and Part 1 launches on July 21, 2026. The headline features: a new endgame dungeon beneath the Unnamed City called the Cyclopean Halls, and the long-requested return of Legendary weapon repair.

Release Date
Monday, July 21, 2026. Funcom is dropping Part 1 alongside its usual major update patch, so expect a downtime window when the client patch goes live on Steam. Three more parts follow across the coming months. Funcom has not confirmed a cadence for Parts 2 through 4 yet, but the phrasing ("across the coming months") suggests roughly quarterly.
Every part of Legacy of the Giant-Kings is free for owners of Conan Exiles Enhanced. No Battle Pass, no separate DLC purchase.
Beneath the Unnamed City: The Cyclopean Halls
Part 1 is called Beneath the Unnamed City. Guided by a new NPC named Akhamet, you descend from the surface Unnamed City into the Cyclopean Halls, a dungeon of grim sacrificial chambers that ends in a formidable boss encounter.

From a private-server perspective, an instanced-feeling underground zone is the kind of content that survives the mid-wipe lull. It gives your veteran players a reason to log back in without having to reroll or ratchet up the loot tables. The boss is described as "formidable", which in Conan-speak usually means "bring three geared friends".
Legendary Repair Anvil Returns
The bigger long-term change is buried in the dungeon: Legendary Repair.
Legendary weapons and armor in Conan Exiles have historically been one-shot deals. You pull them out of a chest, use them until they break, and then they are gone forever. The Enhanced version launched without a repair mechanic for these items, which the community pushed back on hard. Funcom is now restoring it via a special anvil hidden inside the Cyclopean Halls.

Why this matters if you run a server:
- Endgame gear finally has a lifecycle again. Players will farm the dungeon, repair their god-tier gear, and stay online longer.
- Time-gated content stops being disposable. The Star Metal weapons your top clan spent a week to get are no longer single-use.
- Legendary Repair mods should be uninstalled. If your server ran a community mod that added repair kits or bench recipes for legendaries, expect it to collide with the new native system. Test on a separate instance before pushing to your live server.
Four Parts, One Expanding Story
Funcom described the arc as "four free updates, revealing more about the ancient forces stirring beneath the world while introducing new challenges and rewards along the way." Reading between the lines: expect one dungeon or major zone per part, plus a quality-of-life or system change bundled in. That is the same shape as recent Enhanced patches, which have been bundling a marquee feature (server browser, decay overhaul, chest quick-stack) with each drop.
Nothing has been confirmed for Parts 2 through 4 yet, so plan around Part 1 for now.
Recent Patch: 1.3.2 (July 9)
Between Enhanced updates, Funcom shipped a small hotfix on July 9. Two exploit fixes:
- Altered damage calculation for Heritance to prevent damage exploits.
- Fixed an infinite weapon-modification exploit on Voidforge Mace and both versions of Heritance.
If you run a PvP server, both fixes matter. If you run a PvE-only server, no gameplay impact.
What This Means for Your Server
A short checklist for the July 21 window:
- Snapshot your world save the night before. Enhanced updates so far have shipped clean, but Legendary Repair changes item metadata. Rollback insurance is cheap.
- Expect a concurrency spike. Conan Exiles Enhanced hit a peak of over 47,000 concurrent players on Steam after its launch. A big free content drop pulls the same lapsed-player crowd back in. If your slot count is tight, bump one tier temporarily for launch weekend.
- Give the update ~1 hour of downtime headroom. Funcom's Enhanced patches have typically taken 20 to 45 minutes to redeploy and re-verify on official servers. Community/private servers usually just need the new build pushed and a restart, but keep the buffer for mod stack rebuilds.
- Audit your mod list before patch day. Steam Workshop mods that touch Legendary items, dungeon spawns, or the Unnamed City area are the highest risk. Disable anything unmaintained and re-enable one at a time after the patch is live.
Worth Coming Back For?
Yes. A free four-part arc, a new dungeon, and Legendary Repair is the strongest content pipeline Conan Exiles has had in a while. Enhanced has been quietly the most popular the game has ever been on Steam, and Funcom is clearly reinvesting. If you paused after finishing the base game, July 21 is the day to log back in.
