VALHEIM WORLD SEED

Valheim Seed Finder

Lost your Valheim world seed? Drop your .fwl world file here and read the seed, world name, version and active world modifiers straight out of it. Everything runs in your browser, your save never leaves your device.

Nothing is uploaded

The file is read on your device with the browser's own file API. You can disconnect from the internet and this page still works.

Drop your .fwl file here

The .fwl is the small metadata file next to your .db world save. A .fwl.old backup works too. On Valheim 1.0 it is the _main.N.fwl2 file inside the world folder, and that works here too.

Choose .fwl file

Where to find your .fwl file

Every Valheim world is a pair of files: a .db holding the terrain and buildings, and a small .fwl holding the name, seed and modifiers. You want the .fwl.

Valheim 1.0 (world folder)

Since Valheim 1.0 each world is a folder named after the world inside worlds_local. The file you want is _main.N.fwl2 in that folder, where N is the highest number present. Older backups are the .fwl.old files beside the folder.

.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local/<WorldName>/_main.N.fwl2

Windows (local worlds)

Paste this into the File Explorer address bar. AppData is hidden by default, so typing the path is faster than clicking through.

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local

Linux (local worlds)

Local worlds live under your user's config directory.

~/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local

Dedicated server

On a DoomHosting Valheim server, open File Manager in the control panel and download the .fwl from this folder.

.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local
