The Forest Server Status Checker

Paste the server IP address or hostname into the field above and press check. The tool queries the The Forest server directly and returns its live state, so you do not need to launch the game or sign in anywhere.

You get online or offline state, current and maximum player count, the server name, the active map or world, the game version, and the round-trip latency of the query to the The Forest server.

The most common causes are the server process being stopped, a firewall blocking UDP traffic, or the query port being closed. Confirm the The Forest server is running, then check that port 27016 is open and forwarded to the machine.

The Forest answers status queries on port 27016 by default. Only change the port field if your host runs the server on a custom port, which is common when several servers share one machine.

Every check runs live against the The Forest server at the moment you press the button. Nothing is cached, so press check again whenever you want a fresh reading.
