How is the child decided in Palworld breeding?

Each Pal has a hidden breeding power. The game takes the average of both parents’ values and the child is the Pal closest to that number, unless the pair matches a unique combo. This calculator uses the exact values and tiebreak rules from the game data, so the result always matches what hatches in game.

What are unique breeding combos?

Unique combos are fixed parent pairs that always produce one specific Pal and ignore the breeding power formula, for example Grizzbolt and Relaxaurus producing Orserk. Pals from unique combos cannot be bred any other way. The calculator marks these results so you know the pairing is exact.

Can you breed legendary Pals like Jetragon?

No. Jetragon, Frostallion, Paladius, Necromus and the other legendaries only hatch from an egg when both parents are that same species. You need to catch the first two in the wild, then you can breed as many as you want.

Do passive skills pass to the child?

Yes. The child rolls its passive skills from the pool both parents carry, with a chance of random extras. That is why breeding chains matter: you combine the passives you want onto one pair, then breed for the species you want with those passives.

How do I make eggs hatch faster?

Egg incubation time is a server setting. On your own Palworld server you can set PalEggDefaultHatchingTime to 0 in PalWorldSettings.ini so every egg hatches instantly, which makes breeding projects dramatically faster than on official settings.

How Palworld breeding works

Every Pal has a hidden breeding power value. When two different species breed, the game averages the parents’ values (rounded down) and the egg contains the Pal whose breeding power is closest to that average. Ties go to the Pal with the higher breeding power, which is why some pairings give a result you would not guess.

On top of the formula there are unique combos: fixed parent pairs that always produce a specific Pal, like Relaxaurus and Sparkit making Relaxaurus Lux. Pals produced by a unique combo can never come out of the normal formula, so the only way to hatch them is that exact pair. A couple of combos even depend on which parent is female.

Legendaries and a few special Pals only hatch from two of their own species, so you have to catch the first pair in the wild. Egg hatch time itself is a server setting (PalEggDefaultHatchingTime), so on your own server you can make every egg hatch instantly.
